This was another good stay at the Amrath. I have stayed there for many years even when it was owned by another Hotel chain and I stay mainly for the location and the very courteous and helpful staff. We go for the tefaf art fair and just enjoy the old charming city with wonderful restaurants and general ambience.

Excellent service from hotel staff, nice lay out of the hotel, beautiful elevator, spacious room, excellent parking, great location
Our room was facing the Vrijthof, which is great until you realize during the night that it was quite noisy: you could hear every sound from outside.

Yes it was sufficient, the hotel is in a great, very convenient location. The breakfast was great and the lady who served it was lovely! The beds were comfortable.
My room was on the street side it was very noisy which made my jet lag last longer than it should have, but I was moved thankfully. Some of the concierges (a younger fellow) didn't know much about the city, they should know everything there is to know about Maastricht, Cleaning service should remove dirty coffee/wine cups every day.

The only attractive thing about this hotel is its location: it is literally two minutes of walk from Vrijthof.
The hotel is in a very bad state for a 4-star hotel positioning. Although we had a deluxe room reserved without breakfast, we were given the first night a terrible room N.340 which is a standard room. The room was unacceptably worn out. According to the staff, the last renovation was 10 years ago, but it looks like a lot more: the bathroom had mould on the ceiling which is unhealthy and looks terrible. Bed linen had holes, the towels were with brown spots of dirt. Since we were tired of a long flight, only the next morning we asked to change room to what we actually paid for. It was done without any problem, however without any apologies either. The deluxe room was in a better state, although not complying with a 4 star rating of the place. We did not have breakfast there and never regretted it since Vrijthof is full of beautiful restaurants where one can get it much cheaper.

The room was comfortable. The hotel is situated just off the Vrijthof, so very close to what the centre of the town has to offer. The room was quiet, however, and not affected by noise from the street or Vrijthof. There is a bus stop just down the road from the hotel. There was tea and coffee (and little biscuits) available in the lobby 24 hours a day, which is nice in this day and age when hotels have taken to denying guests a "wake up" cup of tea or coffee. The hotel staff were very accommodating.
